1. WTF? What is driving all of this?
  2. New coach + transfer portal + immediate eligibility + NIL
  3. Would have preferred to keep him, but no great loss, really.
  4. No significant playing time is my guess
  5. He played a lot this year, though his time went up a lot after Boutte got hurt. Its really disheartening that so many guys on our team don't seem to have the chest (to coin a phrase) for a challenge. Or, and I'm thinking this is more and more likely, the NIL money being waved around is leading to tampering.

  6. Might agree if we had a cluster of new WR's coming in like we had with last year's class, but he played a lot in the last half of the season, and the numbers at the position are not getting bigger. Call me a conspiracy theorist, but I really think this is NIL tampering. Like I said earlier, while our competitors were organizing their booster money to lure players in, we were organizing ours to pay coaches to leave.

  7. I’m weary of those going into the portal. Most would fall into one of the 5 following categories;
    A. The quitters (no chest)
    B, The mercenaries chasing the NIL money.
    C. Those with inflated egos — They think they are better than they are and wonder why they are not the starter
    D. Those not willing to conform to the team rules
    E. Those who want to wipe the slate clean and just need a fresh start.

  8. I hate that, but it's the nature of the beast. Every team is going to lose some players because other teams are offering ridiculous money and players want to find out their value. I like Palmer and thought he made some big strides, but you can't blame a kid for testing the market. Maybe with Brennan coming back, it might change his mind!
