Tomorrow, Holliday takes another step in his march to the Bejing Olympics. He's favored to win his first national title in the 60 meters in Fayetteville at the NCAA Indoor Championships. The heats go off at 6:15 P.M. on Friday, and the finals, at 7:15 P.M. on Saturday. In addition, the women's team is expected to win the team championship and should be dominant in the sprints. I was wondering the same thing. Does winning the indoor 60 get him qualified to participate in the Olympic trials for the 100?
No, this really has nothing to do with the Olympics except for getting him in top track shape. His main competition should come from his own teammate in the 60, Richard Thompson. This wil be Holliday's first time running in NCAA indoor championships.
Prelims 1 Richard Thompson SR LSU 6.51Q 2 Trindon Holliday SO LSU 6.55Q Holliday won his heat. I think today he could run faster in the final if he sees Thompson get in front of him
