IOWA CITY, IA – The University’s of Iowa and Pittsburgh football teams have signed a contract to play each other four times in the coming years. Hawkeye Athletic Director Bob Bowlsby and Panther AD Jeffrey Long today made the announcement jointly.

Although the games are spaced out over a number of years due to other commitments, I like the attitude our AD, Bob Bowlsby, is taking towards the new 12th game.

His comments: Our school, our team, and our fans want to play the best competition. Adding Pitt from the Big East will compliment our schedule, along with our current contract with Iowa State from the Big 12. Our goal is to add competition from other great conferences during the coming years, which will only enhance our program.

And I was so worried we'd be playing Northern Iowa for the next 20 years.
(Hey, JoePa, isn't Pitt the team you dropped after you joined the Big Ten... wimp.)

Looks like Bowlsby would be open to playing you guys... now, that would be cool.

    lol...probably true!

But I'd rather us play top teams than watch us kick the crap out of some no-name school... :) any day:) !

Pitt.. ah.. a team that would be middle of the road in the Big Ten or the Big 12.. closer to the bottom of the SEC and the ACC... not a bought and paid for blow out, but an almost garaunteed win...

Well, whatever... beats playing Northern Iowa or Appalachian State. Pitt has a pretty good history and would be a good early season match-up for just about anybody, except for maybe the Gods of Troyland.

Forget the BCS.. Pitt will be 3rd in the Big East, behind WVU and Louisville.. Maybe even fourth if the young guys at UConn get into gear early...
