Per Fox Sports, the midseason coach of the year is the Aubrun offensive coordinator: http://msn.foxsports.com/story/3093760
Great break against LSU along with an easy schedule, I don't give either of them respect yet. Borges was a loser coming to Auburn, he just happen to get hired by a school with a fair amount of senior key players. I could'nt really grade him until he's been there for a few yrs.
I dunno. I think their SEC strength of schedule is second only to ours, since they don't play all their tough opponents consecutively, or early in the season. They got Tennessee away and UGA away. We got Florida away and UGA away. Both setups are pretty tough.
They get UGA at home... Trust me Auburn has not played 2 top 10 and one top 20 team on the road in 4 weeks... Auburn is great, but they like us last year. Have a favorable schedule... But hey winning championships require moons to align and they have for Auburn.
The Auburn folks definitely have something to be pumped about. All I am saying is that alot of posters here have already crowned them. I'll reserve my props for them when they complete the job, as we are just getting past the halfway mark. How about let em actually win a championship, SEC,NC, before you guys talk about how great they are.
I think Al Borges is the reason that the offense is clicking these days. Tuberville deserves credit for hiring the guy, but Borges gets the props for the onfield production. :thumb:
Borges is a loser. The reason your offense is clicking is because of senior leadership and a favorable schedule, period.
The senior leaders (Campbell, Williams, Brown, Rogers and Rosegreen) were all here last year and all have at least 2 years starting experience prior to this year. What was it in the offseason that gave them such a boost? Did they stumble upon the secret to leadership upon receiving a "Sr" next to their names in the media guide? Nope. It's coaching. Last year we had no offensive coaching (or very "offensive" coaching, if you will). Had Petrino remained after '02, we might have had a special season last year. He did not, '03 sucked, and coaching (specifically on the offensive side of the ball) is the reason we're enjoying a successful season thus far. It certainly helps to drop USC and pick up ULM and the Citadel, but Borges is the reason for the offensive production.
I disagree. This guy had 1 good season in all of his years coaching and has bounced around jobs like a two bit whore, with the reason being nobody wants him. You guys will see what he is all about next year when your all-star backfield, senior QB and the rest of the key elements from this years squad are gone. Borges will not last long IMO.
You also dropped GT from the schedule, which was another loss. Take those two away and your record becomes 10-3. If Obomanu catches the pass in the end zone against Ole Miss you are 11 -2 with the two losses being LSU and UGA who both soundly whipped you last year because of superior talent on the field. This year, AU's offensive line is playing 100% better. Obomanu and Aromashodu are catching passes instead of dropping them. Williams and Brown are running over defenses. Campbell is looking like a Heisman candidate due to the improved play of his line and receivers. You got the benefit of a BS call at the end of the game against LSU to remain undefeated. It all starts with the offensive line play of Auburn. I would give all the props to them before I would even mention the name of the offensive coordinator, who btw is a has-been.
