back to his roots of florida seems like a good fit. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/20...14/2064.ap.bbc.fla.international.thomas.0213/
Good for him but man I wish he could've been the next LSU head coach. Hated to see him leave but am very happy he gets a shot as a head coach!
Never wanted to see him as HC at LSU. Very happy with Paul Mainieri. He's going to turn this program around!
another uninformed comment everyone should ignore. but if tiga needs a more legit answer, turtle was never the sharpest guy in the room even if he was the only one there. will be interesting to see this fiu outcome. the players often played pranks on turtle because he was a baseball guy thru and thru. not someone you envisioned calling shots as the head man if you know what i mean. not book smart/polished so to speak. i still think he can be successful. its best he isnt head giuy at a major program at least initially.
Thanks tirk, I don't follow baseball real close and, the little I'd heard about him was positive.......it happened to be as you said, about knowing the game, hadn't heard about the "Managing" aspect. swoop, dam TT for bringing in all that great talent?? Still can't get used to hearing coaches being bagged on for bringing in talent that's "Too good".
I think he was as much a reason for the nc teams as skip was hate to see him go, but glad to see him get a shot
I liked Turtle and am glad to see him get his chance, but I don't see how he was a big reason for the NC teams seeing that this first year at LSU was 2000.
