Has anyone noticed how weak the "LSU & Old school Tiger" look on the TV? Today is an age of FLASH the GOLD...For heaven's sake we just recently won a national championship. Does life get any better? I thought I was watching an ESPN Classic with Curley when I saw it. personally, i like the ldskule: and the :tigerhead . and no, i don't think we should put the 'kitty face' on the side of the helmets, as someone hoped a while back. while ldskule: is a bit dated, it seems quite unique to me, and i wish they'd be able to incorporate it/revamp it for something here in the 21st century. i got it, put ldskule: on the white helmets, leave :tigerhead on the gold helmets, and put the new, flashy kitty head on a purple helmet for our out-of-conference away games!
While ldskule: is not quite original (AU uses/used the same logo in a different color) I do like it, if for no other reason then for the traditional aspect. Still like :tigerhead , and yes Toonces still sucks :thumb: !
Yeah, the toonces logo sucks . . . no way should we put that on the helmet. Most all schools have been going back to a retro look, using old school logos or going completely to their helmet logo as a "TV tag". Our hurricane/toonces logo is horrible, in fact it looks like a logo for a nonBCS conference team. One of the few things LSU has going for it, I mean before we started really establishing ourselves with the college football elite . . .is that most agree we have some of the best unis and colors in the game. Back when we were not ranked in the top 25, our unis were always on the top of the list when it came to the best college football unis. I say don't change a thing on the unis, but we have to rid ourselves of the toonces logo. What are we San Jose State? We don't need helmet/uni changes to bring in recruits . . . kids come here to win and for tradiation.

I think our current helmet logo is fine. If you do change it, the next thing you know everyone will want to go back to the tradiational one. I think the best thing to do is find a uni/logo you like and stick with it forever. I also like the older Tiger logo, but I don't think it belongs on the helmet. The only teams changing unis are the ones that suck, or have to bring in recruits with gimmacs. The reason I brought up San Jose St is because in an ESPN article a few years back (when they changed their unis to the new style, with the Denver Broncos like pants and new helmet logo) the coach said they changed the unis to try and bring in recruits. He said it did make a difference between themselves and other schools on the same level. However, at SC the alums were tired of the SC new style look and brought back the older unis (same thing happened with Wash) . . . funny enough, both SC and Wash used the SEC as examples of schools that stick with the same unis making them classics through the years, instead of changing them to reflect new style and trends. I feel the same way about fans wanting us to go back to wearing dark colors at home . . . I can't understand that. We have something to stands apart from the other 120 teams in the NCAA, yet some fans want us to be exactly like everyone else. I like how LSU will wear the purple jerseys only a few times a year, it makes it special and nice . . . but we still get to stick with tradiation. It is one of the most noticable things about LSU. When I moved out here, back when LSU wasn't a ranked power house . . . people knew LSU because of Shaq, our rowdy crowds, and our home whites (most outside of BR think it is cool).
