Anyone know why we did'nt recruit him? I saw where he just scored 31 against Syracuse and was named Big 12 rookie of the week.

Maybe because we had no shot in hell of getting Oden. Just a guess on my part. But Carter is from Reserve. That's in Louisiana in case you did'nt know.

Well, it's good and bad to see Tweety Carter do so well. Good b/c it's good to see a LA, undersized PG play well in college. Bad, b/c it's a case of what could have been obviously for LSU.

First, let's just say it's an good assumption that LSU recruits ANY top 100 kid in the state of LA, and yes, we did recruit tweety carter early on (starting in his sophomore year). But, I believe he was a kid in the same class as DJ Augustin. Hence you've got two top 60 PGs from LA and DJ was higher rated. I think the staff favored DJ Augustin, and I don't know if they recruited both players equally as hard. As most of you know, Katrina happened, DJ went to Texas. Tweety committed to Baylor pretty early on as well, probably because Baylor has made a little bit of an inroads into LA (they took transfer Tim Bush from LSU, signed Tweety, and recently took LaDarius Dunn away from LA), they showed him more love, and they've got a good young personable coach in Drew who was a PG himself. So, I don't think LSU didn't recruit him, but as do many recruits, Tweety went elsewhere for various reasons. Would I have liked to have him or DJ? Sure.

But, now we wait for a similar player in Tommy Mason-Griffin, a good small PG candidate from Houston in '09. Who's probably not as good a shooter as Tweety (yet), but faster and stronger.

    Yes, I did know that.
As long as we're wondering why everyone doesn't play for LSU, I figured we might as well wonder about the best one.

i normally agree with you, but you're just being a bone-head here...

We had the scholarship, and we didn't even give him a look.

He broke the USA high school record for 3s made, and he is a PG.

A shooter, and a PG, both things we need.

We didn't recruit him at all. I'm sure he would have given us a look over Baylor.

Then why no mention of him until he puts up 31 against Syracuse?

Put all of our eggs in the D.J. Augustin basket, and then he tossed that basket over the cliff.
