1. It was at the time.
  2. No it's not, there is no law that says it is illegal to consume weed, just to posess it.

  3. Sanity, ohhhh, sanity. Nice to see every once in awhile
  4. Well, I guess he could have consumed it without actually possessing it.
  5. I'd agree, if it were his first offense, but it wasn't. Repeated disregard for the rules has to be smacked down if you're going to maintain discipline.
  6. That's neither here nor there. It's not illegal to be high. Just to be caught with it physically. Unless you are driving.
  7. Sorry, having no interest in getting high, I haven't found it necessary to stay up on the laws. But as you say, that's neither here nor there. TM7 wasn't booted because he broke a law, but because he broke a school/team rule. Apparently it is against LSU policy to "be high."
  8. I am aware of that, but I quoted you as saying it was against the law. Which it wasn't. Maybe LSU's law and you might have meant that, but I thought you were talking about the actual law.

Hypothetically, what if you were sick and a doctor told you that weed would help you? Would you smoke it, eat it whatever?
  9. Well I'm sure there's a presumption of having posessed it if you are high. Maybe not through the eyes of the law but through common sense. So we all know he did something illegal whether we agree with it or not.
  10. True, I did bring up the law, but I think its reasonable to assume that if weed were made legal today, LSU would change its rules regarding it. Of course, that might not apply to athletes. The NCAA is still going to have its list of no-no's, and they would have to follow that.

Interesting hypothetical. I don't think I want to touch it right now. How's the medicinal marijuana movement going, anyway?
