I don't know if this is about the same thing, but it seems pretty likely.

Even if he doesn't come back to LSU he still has 3 years to play 2. So he could sit out next year and still have two years to play for another FBS school. I'm sure someone would pick him up.

Ugh this right here is the heartbreaker. If I were him, I would go play in Canada for a year professionaly then try to get drafted into the NFL. You can cheif all you want up there badger.

    Contained Chaos Don't we all?

Yep. I was in the Rah Shop in June of that year, and there was a big sign by the Spice, etc. giving the date of when the law went into effect. Now, there have been issues where a particular compound was outlawed and then they just invented a new one. May have been that.

"@RandyRosetta: Source close to the #LSU FBL program AND Tyrann Mathieu says only schools he is serious about for transfer are McNeese St. and Nicholls St."

That Mobius is a smart guy

Wonder how much "Post Paterno Syndrome" was at work here...University Administration dictates to famous coach who complies??

I was really down on HB for a long time, really questioned his character and got pulverized, but overtime I forgave and forgot and got to like the play of the lad.

Really sorry for Tyrann, he needs help, not just a new school. I hope someone will get him the help he needs, and not just use him for his name.

I have no insight about this situation whatsoever, other than what we are all reading in the media and here, but I can't help wonder if Alleva's prior intimate experience with the very public fiasco that went down at Duke and the recent events at Penn St. resulting in the NCAA hammer coming down on PSU are playing into what is going down with TM7. I wonder if Alleva is trying to demonstrate firm, definitive resolution to the reported multiple failed drug tests to protect LSU from future sanctions by the NCAA, and/or any other issues w/him that have not been revealed. It seems to me that these clarifications about completely cutting ties from the LSU football team and TM7 are meant to be protective on a higher level. If any details come out later, I bet they will reveal the decision being made at the level of Alleva, and concerns regarding the NCAA, as to why TM7 has been released completely. To be clear, if his issues were a significant threat to the program, obviously, it is the right decision, not to mention the impact at other levels, too, such as player/team discipline, accountability, legal implications, etc. I certainly respect the desire to run a clean, accountable program, and the efforts of the coaching staff, et al, to help a player in need, I just wonder what other factors going on in the background were in play here.

I read a theory on the interwebs that said that CLM offered TM7 a 1 year suspension. TM7 wanted to play somewhere so he declined CLM's offer. LSU gives him the axe, TM7 changes his mind and that's where the confusion came from today.

This is just 1 guy's theory but it actually sounds plausible.

They should at least offer the young man an opportunity to workout and practice with the team. I mean look at Oregon and how many times Massoli f'd up, or even the Harris kid although I thought his offenses were just as minor as Mathieu's.
