Not sure what "racial bias" was established but another handout for farmers. White ones get PLENTY of "help" too with the subsidies, set aside programs, etc.

It's an out-of-court one-time settlement under a judges ruling. The government has no choice but to settle. even a republican government would have to pay.

It's the $8 billion annually in agricultural subsides that have to go.

You're already a minority under Louisiana Law.

Picking cotton and peas wasn't too bad. It was hauling hay in the summer that sucked. At least my uncle paid us.

It's still BS. My grandmother was poor as a churcxhmouse and was denied opportunity because of her income status.
But she's dead now and I don't think I'm entitled to anything because of her misfortune. Somehow black farmers feel they are owed something. I don't get it. I'll bet half of those getting a windfall have never used a hoe for it's intended function.

I don't know too much about this lawsuit, but it's not another "legacy of slavery or Jim Crow" feel-good measure.

It was about some farm-loan program in the 1980's and 90's that discriminated against black farmers. The discrimination may or may not be BS, but apparently the black farmers were legitimate farmers.

IF that happened and the recipients of money were the actual farmers who got screwed, then I wouldn't have a problem with it. Big IF.
