Anyone watching this series on Showtime? Very interesting, 6 documentary style episodes so far, narrated and produced by Oliver Stone.

I will check it out after "Mankind, the story of all of us" is done on History channel.

That's a neat one too, the way they use actors and cgi to portray historical figures, and events. The Oliver Stone series is all news footage, and real clips, along with some random movie clips that pertain to the subject they are talking about.

Oliver Stone... a paragon of historical accuracy...

Really the world according to Stone is a paranoid fantasy.

And the history of the US according to textbooks and pro government lackeys aren't slanted?

The victors always write history. However the volumnes of documentation available to us from the founding of the US through today pretty much restrict any recounting from being too far off the mark. Unless one is a total conspiricy nut with a tin foil hat (sort of like Oliver) who believes a secret underground group controls the world.

that isnt an argument in favor of stone. oliver stone is an idiot. that your textbooks are flawed doesnt make oliver stone any less of a kook.

Or they could be seen as the 2 extreme sides. The answer is usually in the middle.

The truth has a random correlation with what you arbitrarily determine to be the two extreme sides
