For those of you keeping up with the recruiting race between USC and LSU, according to http://www.rivals.com/ , USC seems to be pulling away right now.
Doesn't really matter. I don't know that there is necessarily a big difference between some of the 5-star and 4-star recruits. Its all about coaching. Saban can easily make a 4-star kid look like a 6-star if the kid wants to improve.
It's actually pretty funny, the guy on ESPN just said that USC has signed the best class EVER in college football history. It doesn't matter though, Texas' will tell you that (how many recruiting national titles have they won, and how many BCS bowls have they been in).
that is too funny LSUfan....remember when ESPN said last year Oklahoma was the best college football team ever? Look what happened after that.......... Karma is a bitch!
Nick Saban :'"We're not interested in ratings" in his press conference just now... ...he doesn't give a crap about what those yahoos are saying... ...what was that old Bum Phillips line about he could take his'n and beat your'n and take your'n and beat his'n... ...I think that that describes Nick to a tee...
Saban is right! He shouldnt be interested in ratings but it gives fans lots to talk about. Ratings have been way overblown for years. They usually dont mean much when you factor in all the guys who dont qualify, the ones who never live up to expectations and the ones who dont contribute much. Just look at the past and it pretty much tells the story. They still have to be coached and still have to work hard. The nut cuttin' time begins in the fall and you dont know much about the totality of any class for a couple years. Still fun to watch though!
Isn't this wonderful for USC? Another national championship that is based strictly on people's opinions. Let's be content with the kind you win on the field.
LSU is ranked 1st by Fox Sports and Sports Illustrated who both use The Insiders. USC is ranked 1st by ESPN and Rivals.
