VA Tech played dirty, but AU played with class.

I saw four personal fouls that should have been called on VaTech but were'nt. These happened after each play and the refs were right there watching. I know the game was intense, but after the 2nd or 3rd time I think a flag should be thrown. I would'nt have been surprised to see a brawl towards the end of the game. And, in my opinion, the refs would have been the ones to blame.

I'm not big on Auburn(although, I did want them to win), but I think they played with class and kept their tempers in check. :thumb:

I thought VT was better than that. You always hear good things about Beamer so I'm not sure why it didn't reflect on the field. Their #1 was awful. Like you said, way too many personal fouls not called....can't complain about a Sugar Bowl win though.

You are absolutely correct. Va Tech played like thugs, while AU kept their heads. Who woulda thought?

I agree, seems that one DB was continually trying to

intimidate the AU wide receivers and running backs. I saw it as a desperate attempt to try to rattle the AU backs because they couldn't defend them. Severely disappointed in Beamer's team's attitude.

Auburn players talk smack with the best of them. But I saw what appeared to be flagrant attempts to punch the Auburn backs and receivers in the eyes after a tackle. If this is what it appeared, Tubby should file a protest with the NCAA. There is no place for that in sports.

Saw the same thing, Auburn did a good job shutting them up by scoring points..

Va Tech fans are pretty miserable to, I remember when we went up. Man they were horrible.

Were those the same officials who worked the Pistons-Pacers game back in November?

I didn't think Va. Tech played like that. I don't think that they have always played that way, but not sure. Va. Tech's coaches are too blame too. Maybe they instructed them to do it. Do they give out stickers for those things at VT? Once, maybe ok, understandable, but when it kept going on and going on, nothing was ever done. clASSless.

Yep, I was pissed and my blood was boiling, I posted stuff about this in the thread for
    the game last night.
You would've thought I was an AU fan but I couldn't help but be pissed at their pathetic, dirty style of play.
To make it worse nothing was ever called against VT.
I'm still pissed about us playing and losing at their place and they cancelled playing us
    at the last minute.

I'm tired of crap about Beamer, the ACC and his stupid team and couldn't believe how
    dirty they played.
I was impressed the way AU kept their cool and played with discipline.

Yeah, as much as it pains me to say it, I was impressed with Auburn last night. I thought they represented the SEC well. Played hard and clean, and refrained from the whining and declaring themselves the true national champion, as USC did after the Rose Bowl last year. Maybe they're actually cleaning up their act and learning a little about class. Anything is possible I guess, and I did say "maybe". We'll just have to see if they're back to their old ways next year.

Now if OU can just smear the crap out of USC, I'll be pretty darn happy (although still much less than I was one year ago at this time).

I actually went to the Sugar Bowl with a UVA friend of mine who told me before the game about the zero-class Hokie fans/players.

Granted, the fans were fine to me....but the players sure did add some cheap shots
