Myself and 3 buddies plan on attending the Va Tech game from here in Dallas. Only myself has been to an LSU game before and that was 5 years ago. We just want to see a good football game. At this point we do not have any tickets and were wondering what the best option was? Is it pointless to try in August when they go on sale to the public or should i just try to get them online? Any ideas would help. We really would like to go.
I have never had trouble outside Tiger Stadium or anywhere else on gameday finding tickets and very seldom paid more than face. It may scare you knowing you are traveling for this game, but I wouldn't let it stop you from going and I surely wouldn't buy them from an online ticket service.
It should be a tough ticket to get. it's the first home game. everyone is upset at Va Tech backing out a few years ago. But, it will be on tv and that might keep a few of the older folk home. I'd pray for rain. alot of people tend to stay away from rain games.
I am bringing six of my friends, one who is a VaTech alum to that game. Were just gonna try to get tickets before the game. I have never had a problem getting them like that and have never payed above face value for them. You just have to be in front of the stadium earlier than normal to make sure you get tickets. You can also ask around while your tailgating. Were flying down from philly and I want to show these yankees what a real football game is like.
If you know people who work offshore- many companies have tics. Also, banks get some- if you know one of the loan officers/President/Board members. Chech the Advocate on Sundays, they often have some......it's available online. Here's a link- go to Classifieds. http://media.2theadvocate.com/designimages/2theadvocate_logo_728.gif Also check here later, many of our members here offer them from time to time.:thumb: http://www.tigerforums.com/images/onegame.gif
Good Ole Philthadelphia. Where are you flying in? I went to school up there and my girlfriend still leaves in DE. You can get a really cheap direct flight to NOLA.
everyone is saying to buy them outside, and while I've done this before now that I live only within flying distance I just can't bring myself to travel all that way without a ticket. I've also had the unpleasant experience of not getting a ticket before the game although it was probably due to me waiting until 2 hours before kickoff to try. The online prices are freakin insane but I've gone that route just for some piece of mind. Its your call of course, if I were flying down by myself I'd probably just risk it and look on game day, if I were flying down with a group and wanted to show people a good time I'd probably buy the cheapest tickets possible online, look for better ones before the game, then try and sell my crap tickets before the game. Yea you still lose some money but you have the peace of mind knowing that if worse comes to worse you'll get in and you still have a good chance of getting a better ticket once you're there. And contrary to what someone else said, don't pray for rain because I'm going to be at the game  . ETA: oh yea, and getting them from LSU in August will almost certainly be impossible for this game, at least that has been my experience for a game of this caliber. Both teams, barring a total disaster, will be undefeated going into the 2nd week of the season. Sometimes the prices will come down if one team is tanking but that isn't really possible by week 2.
Yea were gonna fly into NOLA. Im in school up here as well in ole Philthadelphia. They all wanted to hang out in NO plus its much cheaper. I told my friends it is gonna be a tough ticket (vatech game) but they dont care. They just wanna tailgate and drink, so I really only need two tickets.
You really think those old people are going to go watch the game in the rain when it's on tv? oops, nevermind. I misunderstood what you were saying. don't pray for rain because you don't want to be rained on, right?
