I suppose it is the result of my being anxious about signing day, but I was surfing around, looking for LSU football information.

Reading an article on Yahoo Sports (I think it was a pick up from Rivals). They were listing impact red shirt freshman and mentioned Richard Murphy of LSU.
    Looking around I find he is a 6-1, 198lb running back from Rayville – 4.5 40.
Anyone know anything about his development last year?

Also, I was wondering about Jai Eugene, the corner from Destrehan.
I thought he was also a red shirt and I sure thought he would be an impact player when he finally played.
Anyone have any information on him?

Jai Eugene was one of the most highly rated CBs last year and I think almost signed with Michigan before having a last minute change of heart and coming here. He would've started as a freshman if it wasn't for all the depth we had, but he'll definitely start next year or at least get a lot of playing time

Since we are killing time, how about Shomari Clemmons? What did he do this year? He is a big time talent to me, and I look forward to seeing him get playing time.

We return our top 2 CBs, so Eugene won't be a full time starter, but I expect him to get a lot of playing time next year. He probably wouldn't have redshirted had he not injured his thumb during the summer.

Miles had described Murphy as possibly the best athlete in last year's class. He's got very fast feet, and it will be interesting to see how we use him next year. He'll play some, but next year there will be a lot of depth at RB so it is hard to imagine him playing a whole lot. Murphy got to camp late last year, so he didn't really have a shot at much playing time considering Scott was there on time & Keiland was coming from prep school where he played against better competition.

Clemons didn't make the grades last year, but is expected to resign with us today & be our one LB for this class. He was a safety in highschool, but is very physical and should be a good one. He'll probably redshirt though because there is a lot of young talent at the LB position.

Eugene will get plenty of PT this year at corner and nickle back, I figure.

Thanks for the updates. Those of us who live outside Louisiana don't get that much information.
