Has there been any news on Randell's condition after the sack? He wasn't put back into the game after that hit, so I was wondering if that had anything to do with Russell playing the entire 4th qtr. If Randell wasn't hurt, then I would assume Russell could be the starter for MissSt.
yeah, thats a good point and i thought about it aswell. but when you have a min left and need to get all the way down the field......do you want the passing QB in the game or the running QB in the game?
And you're a moron. Or did Randall not complete a pass on the only TD drive of the game? You're obviously just in love with Russell, but I'm sorry to tell you that I'm pretty sure he's straight.
Agree with FT on this one if we can't throw the ball downfield we will just be a tad better than 500. This ain't high school or juco or even USL with Brian Mitchell who did not win #### this is the SEC and major college football. Need to move the ball downfield and quick we can go to the tight ends in a pinch but look at what Saban gave schollies to a qb that who knows how far he can throw the ball. Speed and hieght at wide out. This team will throw the ball if Saban has to throw it himself
Randall made a couple of heads up plays on that 1st drive and his passing was very good. FT is just mad at the world and he hasn't learned to control his anger yet.
Umm, he's been just as consistent as your precious JR the last two games, and he looked better yesterday. Russell will be great, but he's not there yet. And you're right I don't know **** about football since I pointed out that the only QB to score a TD yesterday shouldn't be replaced for good by a guy who didn't. So evidently you don't think TD's are the most important thing, since you think the guy who didn't score one yesterday should replace the guy who did. You obviously know WAY more than I do. :thumb: Get over the OSU game. First game of the season, on a wet field, and the whole team, particularly the offense, but the whole team looked pretty sad. You can't honestly say anyone played well in that game, so give up that argument. It wasn't all Randall's fault. JR came in against a noticeably tired defense and made some nice plays, but he wasn't getting nearly the pressure on him that Randall got early. And yesterday, when Russell did get a lot of pressure on him, he could do nothing. And it's quite possible that replacing Randall yesterday after a perfect first TD scoring drive ruined his momentum. It was a mistake. He looked great, and they should have stayed with him until he screwed up. But your JR came in, which I'm sure made you happy. Of course he couldn't score a TD, but evidently that's not important to you anyway. Grow up.
But he never did anything after that. I think that is what FT is trying to point out. Russell got very close a few times (I know close means nothing) but he would get sacked or something like that. Randall looked like Joe Montana on that first drive but couldn't do sh** after that. Saban made a baaaad choice by taking Marcus out after he went 80 yards and scored a TD. They lost some momentum there. Someone needs to make a play and just say hey this is my quarterback job not yours! But noone has done that yet and that is what makes it so hard.
I understand that. Russell did get close, but you're right, their d would get to him and stop the drive. That's exactly my point. Randall might have been able to scramble and keep the drive alive. Maybe not, but maybe. I'm not saying Randall is a great QB. But neither QB did anything after that. You're right in that Randall should have been left in until he screwed up. Why lose that momentum? There was no point in that. But Russell didn't look any better yesterday, that's all I'm saying. And people who keep saying Russell is so great and Randall sucks should just shut up. Russell didn't look great yesterday, and that's just how it is. He will be great, but he's not yet, and Randall can still play a part in helping us win some games this year. That's my point.
