Sounds like he's retired on his OWN accord--good for him. http://www.lsusports.net/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=5200&ATCLID=225901 Plus...if he really wanted to get back into baseball, I'm SURE we could find a good use for him on the baseball coaching staff... :thumb:
Class act all the way, now he can enjoy watching his little girls grow up. It sure would be nice to see him show up at an LSU game sometime. Could you imagine how long the standing ovation would be when he was announced.:thumb: :thumb: :thumb: :thumb: :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:
First and foremost, I would hope that he would be a fixture at LSU baseball games. Even as just a spectator. But I would also like to see him in some capacity as perhaps an advisor of some sort (if there's not a true "coaching" position available).
I saw him play with the Pirates at Milwaukee a few times. Too bad he's retiring. Heck he can still play now. Too bad he's not at least going to spring training with a team.
saw him play with Detroit when they were in town playing the Red Sox... That was the biggest collection of LSU alum I had seen on the same baseball field. At the time, you had Todd Walker at 2B for Boston and Curtis Leskanic in the bullpen and Morris was the 2B for Detroit.
Since you mentioned Leskanic I believe that Leskanic was with the Brewers at the time I saw Morris with the Pirates.
He autographed my LSU cap when he was through here last summer playing for Nashville. Nice guy. Hope all goes well for him.
