No, I'm not talking about the team. The team's fine. I'm talking about the board. Since I've been here (all of over a month ) I've noticed that there are two main groups: the Sabans and the Miles. You either think that Saban is the greatest man and Miles is the man to ruin our program, or you're over Saban and you are perfectly content with Miles for now. After this loss, the small rift that caused minor squabbles in the past has exploded into a full-scale war. This board is in shambles. I can't find a thread worth posting on because of all of the bickering. Each camp has its points, but they argue them in the worst way- dogmatically. It seems, for the most part, to be the fault of the Sabans, but the Miles are adding fuel to the fire. I think everyone needs to take a step back, stop MAKING NEW THREADS- use the old ones- and hold off on spewing so much anger for a little while. Debate is one thing. Repetition of arguments is another thing entirely. This forum was special because of its great "A-hole to good poster" ratio- generally because we were all posting on something we all agree about. Now that the fanbase has created this issue, the forum is quickly becoming like many useless message boards out there. The same points repeated over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over until no one knows what the original topic of the thread was. I know in time this will die down, but it's just disturbing. If anyone wants me, I'll be in the video game forum hating on the PS3.LSU!
The board has seen this level of meltdown--and worse--since I started posting here in '03. You should've seen it after the '03 Florida loss or the Oregon State game or the '04 UGA debacle. The day after Christmas in '04 was an oldie but goodie, followed closely by the uproar over the Miles hiring. We've pretty much weathered those storms, and this too, shall pass...
I agree. I never post much after a game win or lose. Dont know where my thought belong. I feel terrible after a loss like every diehard Tiger Fan. I also feel way worse after reading other posts on this board. Dont get me wrong, I love reading and posting everyday on Tigerforums but intial reactions to losses kill me. Great Posts!!!:geauxtige
hey man, over the edge? over football? come on. I have a buddy who races that just got word his wife has terminal cancer. that's over the edge, not football. I can remember back to the CHolly mac days when 8-3 was a good year. then later the denardo years etc... I can't speak for anyone else, but I think we'll get through this.. some how..
This was NOTHING compared to what happened here after the lose to Tenn last year. I was really ready to start collecting ip address and busting some heads. This always happens, and by Wednesday everyone will be pumped up for the next game. The posters that matter, are the ones that win, or lose are here stating the same opinion. I really hate the selfloathers that feel the need to come on here and bitch just because their moms let them have the computer for some alone time. These are the same people that have been memebers since Al Gore created the internet but only have 3 post. FR dont put ANY stock into the comments that are posted here after a lose, because these are the guys that will be in the ER for broken legs and arms jumping on and off the wagon.
That big yellow thing outside your window. This is a post from my AU Premium Board, fits well here also. Credit this to Rob1855: That big yellow thing outside your window. That's the sun coming up again. It isn't the end of the world, folks. Eventually, everybody has a day when everything falls apart. For the tigers, that day was yesterday. Many of our flaws were exposed. Now it's time to get to work fixing them.
Re: That big yellow thing outside your window. "Its when things look toughest, is when we can not quit"
The tennessee game was pretty bad. we'll survive this little gem though. it's just tough because it's the 2nd loss with 2 hard road games ahead
