For those of you speculating that, I can tell you that there are tons and tons and tons of things they didn't show tonight so they can save it for V-Tech. Most of them have to do with Holliday. Every time Trindon was in, he got the ball. They have a ton of plays where he is a decoy, and I suppose they will show those later. Ryan Perrilloux... my man... boy did he look good... I know the RB rotation isn't set in stone, but Keiland will continue to be the Brandon Jacobs TD back.
Thats good to know. The only thing I wondered about Trindon is when he got the ball he seemed to be running to the short side of the field most of the time. It would seem that running him to wide side of the field would be better.
I would bet good money you will see a play action pass after a fake to TH vs. VT. How many Play actions did they run last night? I don't remember any.
It was pretty obvious that they're saving the playbook for Va Tech and I agree with that strategy. No need to tip your hand this early. I would've liked to have seen them go long one time though. I love Jacob Hester. He runs and plays hard, but he can't hit the holes as fast as KW, CS, or RM. The defense was just as vanilla. Very basic packages with limited blitzes. Even when they did blitz, they dind't even bother to disguise it. RP looked great. Very smooth and fluid. Alot of people are saying State was beaten by then, but I disagree. Sure the score was out of reach, but they still had their starters in and they were still playing hard. I don't think they're should be a change at QB, but I wouldn't be opposed to RP getting playing time in situations other than a mop up role.
I say we line up in the old Jerry D stacked I formation and pound Holiday between the tackles all game to see what he's made of.
