Since when have we been Duke in basketball? A bye in the SEC tourney is pretty good. Sure Brady is an average coach at best but it isn't like the PMAC is the Death Valley of basketball arenas either.

Sure we probably should be better but now every coach on campus is being held to the new St. Nick standard, maybe that is a good thing but we don't have the basketball pedigree to be complaining like this.

Since when did we become the ole miss of basketball where 4th or 5th place in the conference is like winning the Super Bowl? Since when did having an average team in basketball become just fine by the fans? Expectations for the team this season may have been a little too high but expectations for where the program should be headed are way too low by some that post here. I don't care about the same ole excuses like we are not Duke or LSU is a football school I'm calling BS on that. A top notch basketball program can be built at LSU and should be and I couldn't care less what the coaches name is that brings us there. As long as it is not Knight or Nolan "cowboy pimp" Richardson.:cuss: :cuss: :cuss: :geaux: :lsug:

expectations way too low...are you f*cking crazy?

we weren't even predicted to go to the NCAA tournament by almost every expert publication

this is our FIRST year off probation...repeat, FIRST year off probation.

however, with the talent we have coming in next year and the year after we will be competing for an SEC title and a elite 8 or better birth

What publications have you been reading? Name one that said we shouldn't make the tournament when we were picked by almost everyone to finish high in the West.:geaux: :lsug:

LSU was picked by most publications to win or be in second in the WEST. As many have posted before the 2nd west team always goes. So to say that we weren't expected to be in the field is absurd. And I don't think anyone here is expecting LSU to be Duke in basketball but we damn sure better have pretty high expectations or we might as well just quit competing. We should aim to be the best in the WEST every year and therefore the best in the SEC now and then. With the talent base in LA we can have very high expectations at LSU. Ask Bertman, last week he said the same thing, he expects all of the programs to be very good, not average, and that all of the coaches have bought into it.

You also may want to read the entire post before you respond. I said "Expectations for the team this season may have been a little too high" That means that expectations for this season may have been a little too high. I also said "but expectations for where the program should be headed are way too low by some that post here.". That means expectations for where the team should be headed IN THE FUTURE are way too low.:dis: :dis: :dis: :dis:

Cant specifically name the magazines (probably Lindy's and Athlon), but I recall LSU picked outside top 30, middle of the pack SEC West and NCAA bubble team.

You guys act like Brady, and those of us who support him, are satisfied with LSU's season. That is far from the truth. We would all love to be 1st in the SEC and going into the NCAAs as a high seed. We are not satisfied and we do have high expectations. The chief difference is that those of us here who support Brady are rooted in reality. We are fresh off probation and do not demand instant exemplary achievement. Frankly, this season's performance by a young group of talented players, though disappointing, wasn't that bad. We played ourselves into a bye in the SEC tourney and will likely make it onto the big dance. Do we expect more next year? Yes. Nobody, I believe will give Brady a pass without gradual improvement but we didn't start the clock running until he was recruiting on a level playing field and that started this year.
