1. The importance of an intersectional game early in the season against a top program cannot be underestimated. If we had played any lesser opponent in place of VT, we would be out of the national championship discussion; in fact, there is no opponent, other than Ohio State, whom we could have played who would have helped us more. I am thankful for good scheduling.

  2. Bingo! Excellent point!

And if I saw it correctly, the Tiger schedule next year is unfortunately, very Kansas-esque. North Texas & Troy don't inspire much awe, I'm afraid. But that's the BCS deal now. Most teams feel like they can't afford to make an out of conference mistake and keep up in the BCS. Look at Az. St., Kansas and Ohio St. this year. Looks like the 9/13 date is open from what I can find. I hope they can bring in a quality team for that date.
  3. This is just one of several breaks we caught. If we don't play them this season, good chance we don't move past them now. OTOH, it doesn't mean that Va.Tech jumps in. If you look at the polls now, it would be tight between OU and VT. All that said, we caught a huge break with the head-to-head played this year. VT is going to kick themselves twice now for that loss. It is like they lost to us twice this year. Wow!
  4. Especially sincethey delayed the rematch by several years
  5. BTW, speaking of '08 schedule, at Auburn, at Fla., at SC, and finish at Arkansas? Man, no rest for the weary! McFadden WILL be in the NFL next year, won't he?
  6. Beamer is sure regretting backing out of the game a few years ago.
  7. It may be a lighter schedule, but keep in mind we'll also be playing a VERY tough SEC schedule.
  8. Question ? If your Tigers go to the NC game who from the SEC goes to the Sugar ?
  9. Wasn't there a discussion with Coach Miles and LSU before the season started where CLM was not a believer of having a VT game so early in the season? There is a lot of good Karma with this season for the players and coaches. It's been a true Mountain Top to the Bottom of the Valley back to the Mountain Top experience in one short week for everyone. I still kinda don't believe it until I hear it on TV tonight.
  10. It could also be argued that not playing Va Tech could have possibly kept Early Doucet healthy and LSU may not have been in this position to begin with. I seem to remember having WR trouble during that loss to KentLucky (well not so lucky anymore).

It is a nice feeling to stick it to Va Tech twice this year though...
