Alabama baseball coach Jim Wells said Friday he was withdrawing his name from consideration for the LSU job and will remain with the Crimson Tide. Wells, 51, was considered a leading candidate for the LSU vacancy after Ray "Smoke" Laval resigned following the SEC tournament. Wells is a good friend of LSU athletic director Skip Bertman.
