I honestly don't know what to expect. Has the administration indicated any type of timeframe in which they hope to have a confirmed replacement? I would assume any announcement would be delayed until after the cap one bowl but you know what they say about assumptions...I certainly don't want to see a rushed decision but the rumor mill seems to make time stand still. Any thoughts out there?

After the bowl game, I would say January 2nd or 3rd.

I also saw an article that quoted him as saying we should have a new coach by 1-12-05. However I think that hiring a new coach is much more important than the next recruiting class and Skip should take as much time as needed to get a high quality coach IMHO.

Skip hopes to get one by/on the 2nd but said he plans to have one by the 12th.

The Notre Dame search--which seemed to go on forever after Urban turned them down---lasted 12 days.

If you count Dec. 26 as Day 1 of the LSU search, Jan 12 would be 18 days.

I'm no recruiting guru or anything, so I don't know if LSU is even in the running for any of these guys, but the US Army HS All-American game (at which more and more kids announce their intentions) is Jan 15.

I'd think having someone in place by the 8th would be ideal. The current pace (1 interview a day or so) of the search, however, seems to point to wrapping this up sooner, not later.
