I feel like I'm getting over confident about this Georgia game. I felt very nervous about Auburn because I didn't think our guys would be ready. But I have a feeling we are gonna whoop Georgia's a**. In all honesty, had we beat Auburn, I would feel less confident about this game. But I think the mindset of this team is completely different now, we stoped all that "not trying to lose" mentallity and are ready to go out and win now. I think Georgia is in that mindset right now, and we are the people to take it to them. Everything I've read so far is just people spitting out media crap about their defense and Green and Pollack etc. BS. I haven't seen them demonstrate any of that this year. So, the question becomes... What will really stop LSU from dominating this game? What can Georgia actually do to win? to keep it close?
I worry about overconfidence, too. Georgia just didn't look very good in their two loses to LSU last year. On the other hand, the eventual national champions were the ONLY team Georgia lost to last year. Other people who have played them and are familiar with the team are very impressed with something. I think these guys are much better than the team we last saw in December. And we have to play them at their place. LSU is quite capable of winning this game, . . . but it is going to have its hands full with Georgia
They won't roll over for us ... But we'll Bust their azzes and knock 'em ****ing over ... No one ... especially GA ... will stop LSU now ... especially our OL This is do or die time ... and LSU FB and our OL will triumph :champs: dominate
Well, Nick Saban's comments the past week or so seem to back up your "feeling". He talked quite a bit after the MSU game about how this was the first time the team played with the intensity and abandon that they showed last year. All the pressure really is on Georgia--a win this week over LSU and, ideally, a win next week over an undefeated Tenn. should make them either a very, very strong #3 or (if USC loses to cal on Oct. 9, which I think they will) a solid #2. These guys know that they were possibly the best team in the country back in 2002 (I bet they wish they had their one loss season in 2003, not 2002), and are now in a position to "finish the drill" as Richt has them saying these days. Can these guys, these Bulldogs, handle it? As for LSU, does a young-but very talented-LSU team that is now back to the "lurking" stage that they were in after the Florida loss in 2003 have that fire beginning to burn, that "we can play with anybody in the country but we get no respect" fire that fueled a Sugar Bowl run last fall? I think I know the answer to those questions, which is why, come 5:30 or so tomorrow I'll be one happy guy.
Oh give me a flipping break. Every article in the AJC this entire week has been about LSU and how good Nick Saban has been...literally every day....the other day it was about Alley, today about Nick...other day about Green....you dont have any argument that the media is favoring UGA.
I'm not one to say that the media is against us. I think that the media spread has been fairly equal between our two teams. I have seen a few who pick LSU, a few who pick UGA. All I'm saying is, when I read why they pick Georgia - it seems like they are spitting out things that haven't been proved by your team so far this year. I think Georgia is a very good football team. I don't, however, think that they are top 3 caliber - I think Georgia has the talent, but not the right mindset right now. They are having the problem LSU had earlier in the season, when you're all of a sudden ranked in the top 5 in preseason, you start worrying about losing and going down in the rankings instead of going out on the football field to win.
I'll tell you what Georgia COULD do... They COULD woop our asses, but they won't. I feel pretty confident right now, I like our chances. :geaux:  :geaux:  :geaux:  :geaux:  :geaux:
I would agree. UGA should NOT be in the Top 5 right now with their previous performances. But when have the polls ever made sense?
