Okay, I will eat crow after last night's win at Florida. I can man up and admit I was wrong to post this. Proud of these Tigers, and let's finish out 2020 on a positive note.
Potential for chaos. If UF beats Bama next Saturday, who does the committee send: UF: 2 Loss SEC Champ Bama: 1 Loss SEC runner up who just lost their conference championship game A&M: 1 Loss SEC team who beat the SEC champ but didn’t even play in their conference championship game and lost to the runner up at home by 4 TD’s This could change the precedent. How can they punish Florida for losing a makeup game that they didn’t have to play or punish Bama or A&M for playing 10+ games and having one loss but reward Ohio State for playing only 5. On the otherhand how can you reward a team for losing their conference championship game? We’ve seen them send a team who didn’t play in the championship, but never after losing the conference championship. Best thing Bama could do in that case is just not play it. Seriously. Why risk it? It will be interesting if that happens.
They must think a second place finish in the SEC West will get them into the playoff. Its worked for Bama in the past, but it ain't working for A&M.
I hope not. Their best win just got worse. They got crushed by Bama at home. The committee can’t honestly believe they’ll do much better on a neutral field. With Ohio State getting rewarded for not playing, why should Bama, Clemson or ND even play next weekend? Honestly.
