    I AM NOT BASHING SKIP!

I, like a lot of other guys was on smoke's side all year.

I, unline a lot of other guys, was pretty sure we'd get our sh*t together down the stretch.

I, like a lot of other people, was optimisticabout the teams success and the future for the season.

and now, I, like everyone else, is wondering why we cant win an sec tournament game... what is it about going to a tournament style setting is it that just makes the tigers lose all composure? I hate to bash smoke... but I mean three groups of guys (the 03' 04' and 05' teams) all suffer from the same problem... and the only thing that remains the same is smoke. In any other sport, the guy that cant win the big game is on the hot seat. (mack brown, bob huggins) Smoke has taken a national power and the most consistent winner of any college sport from the top of the mountain to the cusp of mediocrity. No one fears them any more and have fallen from the best team in the country to not even the best team in the state... heck you could make a point that they arent even the best team in their city...

My question to everyone here is, when will we stop defending smoke and start seeing him for what he is. A good coach that just doesnt have the ability to keep his team composed during the big games.

Actually... they have several players in common as well. (Patterson, C. Harris, Gill, Liuzza, Sprowl, Mestepey...)

I beg to differ. He has clinched an SEC Championship and 2 CWS births in just 4 years. Those titles included some big game wins.

I'll stop defending him when he stops making it to Omaha. Right now, he has two in a row. Not looking good for 3 in a row, but it didn't look good last year when we went 0-2 in the SEC toruney.

alot of people make excuses when this team loses to southern and small schools during the week but if you look at the team that played southern and the team that played a big POSTSEASON game the last two days. They look simular. Whats the excuse now? I guess the SEC tournament didn't mean anything too and hosting a Super isn't important. Some of you people need to wake up.

Amen. Last time I checked winning in Birmingham wasn't an automatic to Omaha. It might actually benefit this team NOT play the Supers in the Box, then only one set of fans will be jumping their case.

We got killed in Omaha. You ever notice how teams play a whole lot better against us the second time around. They hit our pitchers better. Not us. We make the same mistakes that cost us games. Sure the kid from Tenn. would have been tough to beat with anybody on the mound today. He is good. But if we could have won yesterday, a game we should have won, we wouldn't be worried about facing him.
