we destroy and blow out Florida. I realize virtually no one thinks this is possible. I just wonder if we play up or down to our competition. Stranger things have happened. What will the poll voters do with us. Let's now say Alabama has a really lackluster performance against a fired up Missouri team. In this scenario, you think Alabama moves down. Not a CHANCE. I guess I am saying this. I see no way the pollsters move us up. There is no one for us to jump regardless of situation. This is why moving down with wins in consecutive weeks is a travesty. If we lose to Florida by 1. I can see us dropping to 12 or below. We have no love this year. Not letting Miles and company off the hook, just thinking about possibilities.
If we blow out FL, everyone will say that FL is a young team that was overrated. LSU will get no respect this year unless they beat Bama.
Let's see. Bama could never get a lot of separation from Ole Miss at home, but Saban's the HC so we'll give them a pass. UGA and their fearsome defense needed a last-minute Bray turnover to seal the deal with a basketball score against Tennessee, again at home. Not sure what their excuse for not dropping was.
Please remind me of a season where there was any love for LSU. The only reason why LSU would get any respect by beating Bammer is to guarantee the Gumps another mulligan.
Last year, LSU was ranked the way they were because the voters had no other alternative. It wasn't out of love. This year...look where LSU was ranked prior to the last two games wins.
Look if you want respect from the media, not that I would play any fiddles for the media: 1. Don't as the number 3 team in the country let and FBS team hang with you and even lead on you at your own home field. You should demolish them by 70 points. 2. The week after ULM takes Auburn to overtime, don't then follow up that with a 12-10 boring victory that that involves fumbling at the goal line, QB lost out side the pocket, etc... I don't think the media is gonna show you love when the beat a team you should have beaten by 40, by 16 and looked like crap doing it. Besides nothing wrong with the media not giving you any love. Beat FL, SC and BAMA and the media will come around and so will the polls.
I think it's possible. We have the talent, but will we use it to its potential??? Doubt it! We don't deserve love, we don't pay to our potential, look very sloppy and don't deserve to be discussed as a potential champion until we get our shit together, which very well may not be until next year. If even then. Plenty of other teams deserve the love right now, teams that are playing much harder, much more composed, and much more uniform; Oregon, FSU, Texas(long shot but back), WVU, K-State, of course Bama, and maybe UGA. Everybody else has issues currently.
None of that crap matters......take care of buisness, undefeated or a one loss SEC champion, and we are still most likely going to be in the National Championship. Respect does not mean crap, we play in the sec take care of buisness and we will be there in the end, wether we blow anyone away or win every game by 1 point!!
Agreed, even though I still think the love for Bama, USC, OU, tOSU year in and year out is ludicrous and bias, I agree, we control our own destiny and don't need love from any of these so-called analysts/experts on ESPN. In fact, there is no such thing as an ESPN analyst or college football expert on ESPN. Kirk, Desmond, Lee, Fowler, Pollock, Carter, Palmer, Brock, etc. any and all of them: Analyst - NO Journalist - NO Expert - NO Entertainers - YES That's all they are. It's thier job to create drama, it's their job to debate useless shit, it's their job to keep the rest of the country interested in college football because outside the south, ratings are plummeting, the country is calling it SEC fatigue. Call it what you want, but as long as the SEC dominates, to keep everybody else happy, they will continue to hate on us and continue to point everything LSU does wrong, not right. And as soon as Bama has a let down game, they are all chomping at the bit to say I told you so. If anybody remembers, Kirk, Lee, Pollock, and a few others didn't even have an SEC team playing for the title this year, only Desmond did, and he had LSU. The rest: Oklahoma USC FLorida St Oregon I think I even heard West Virginia But, you are right, NONE of that shit matters. Just handle business
