The man was hot. The first drive against AU was on time. He ate up a lot of clock. WTF? Then he sends Russ in? He needs to stick w/1 QB and thats it. If Russ isn't ready sit his @55 out till next year. If Randall can't do it then put in Russ. It's a simple thing to decide. :geaux:

I'm sure there are 10 other threads like this and we probably don't need one, but nevertheless I'll post a reply. Saban knows more about these QBs than any one of us fans and he made a decision that he thought was right at the time. Hindsight is 20/20 so its alot easier for us to criticize the man now. The man brought us a national championship last year and 2 of the last 3 SEC Championships. I think he's proven he's a worthy coach. Does that make him perfect? No, he still makes some bad decisions I guess, but I'll take him over Stoops, Carroll, Richt or any other coach you could throw at me other than Lombardi.

Saban, when interviewed at halftime said, "We had planned to give each QB 15 reps, and Randall got his 15 in the first drive so then it was JR's turn." That's what HE said, I think it was a 14 play drive for a TD, that was pretty impressive. I guess they had prescripted the amount of plays each would get, going with the hot hand after evaluating each one.

I bet they have a different plan for quarterback substitution for this week, though. The coaches get better, too. This is the nature of the thing.

Nick is the same coach this year as years past, its not his fault that the QB's have been too inconsistant.
He can't go out there and play too FGS,(for god sake)

I think thats a good gameplan for the first two teams we played but not AU. After Randall put that drive togeather I was like DAM he looks great. He came out of the game and never got it back. Saban put his fire out. Now that im thinking about it may be Randall was only good for 14 plays?

Relax guys, we knew we would have growing pains this year. The coaches are probably working twice as hard this year as they did last year. This is part of the growing process. This is a "down" year for us and a up year for Auburn and they still barely beat us. Enjoy the ride and if you want to see bad, get some tapes out when C. Hallman was the HC. :thumb:

So you really believe he would have driven us up and down the field at will against the Auburn defense all game long?

    Get real...

The Randall I know showed up after that throwing to a wide open TE on a fake run reverse and missing him by 3 yards. He was only 10 yards away from him.

how quickly they forget those embarrasing years of curly and the defensive genious lou tepper. I think many of the posters around here are too young too remember this so they feel a sense of entitlement. nothing comes easy, esp. if you've got the bullseye on your back. we can still reel off 8 wins and be in a position for a BCS bowl. nothing wrong with that!
