What is it with schools using Katrina as smack talk?

Am I just being over-sensitive or am I the only one that gets disgusted with other teams fans mocking our state for a natural disaster.

I saw a few threads on AUTigers laughing about New Orleans being underwater a few days back (and others did stick up for us though) then my UGA buddy sends me a link from the WVU boards in which someone says

It's not just out of state people. I heard several people in lafayette say the same thing.

 

Classless. But I guess it's the same as joking about Cali falling into the ocean after the next "big one".

 

We get dumbass comments from time to time over at AUNation, but they quickly get deleted.

Lame. There is plenty to talk smack about without being classless.

 

Had a sign at the Alabama game, it said:

ALABAMA'S DEFENSE
IS LIKE A
CATEGORY 5
HURRICANE

Cold blooded.

 

Just some people who aren't smart enough to come up with anything clever, so they rely on attacking the easy target to get an easy laugh. If they want to make light of suffering, that's just fine what goes around comes around.

 

There are too many things to laugh about and poke fun at about Louisiana and NOLA to waste your time with talking trash about tragedy.

 

Yeah.. I'm sure if opponents were at NYU basketball games with signs like "We dropped the bomb on you, baby!" and "Check out our Twin Towers!", the nation would be in an uproar...

 

It should have said:

ALABAMA'S OFFENSE
IS LIKE A
GENTLE SPRING
RAIN SHOWER.

 

If you can read this, you don't go to Alabama
