Florida '97 - easy. I was at the '88 Earthquake, and the '03 Georgia games, but I was a little too young to accurately recall the '79 USC game. Of the three contenders mentioned most prominently in the thread, '97 Florida runs away with it. The constant noise during that game, particularly for the entire 4th quarter, can only be described as desparate. Everybody in the place knew how big a victory over the #1 team would be, knew how improbable it was, knew it was about to happen, and was doing everything they could to help it along, i.e. screaming like maniacs w/o interruption.

My loudest game ever experienced was the USC game in 1979 ... I was sick for two days after that and couldn't even speak. I still hate USC & the refs who stole the game from LSU.

My loudest moment ever ... Earthquake game against Auburn

I have been to all the games mentioned and from start to finish, with little doubt it was usc. Wide World of Sports the next day had qb paul macdonald on and was being interviewed, it was all about the atmosphere and noise at Tiger Stadium. Said nothing could prepare us for what they experienced. Barely anything about the game.

That game posted earlier, 12-6 LSU, was back in 1995 (I think). It doesn't get as much recognition because it wasn't a great overall season, but Auburn came in ranked #5 and old Troy Twillie batted the ball down in the endzone on the last play of the game with Auburn inside the 20.

I really was one of the best games I've attended. But like I said, wasn't a great season or a great team so it's not mentioned as much.

The best games that I went to were the 1972 Notre Dame game, the 1976 Nebraska game & the 1979 USC game.

    1995.

I don't know how to compare, 79 USC was so long ago and I was young then, 95 Auburn, 97 Florida, 00 Tennessee, 03 UGA.... they were all incredible.

Arrgghh... Nebraska 1976. Weren't they ranked #1? Mike Conway missed a field goal by a refs imagination?

    1972 Ole Miss.

We win 17-16 on the last play of the game w/ 4 seconds left, Bert Jones to Dr. Brad Davis in OUR (SE) corner of the end zone.

    The place went NUTS.

Even though Rusty Jackson's XP actually wins it, his kick was anti-climactic.

My ears are STILL ringin'.....
