What is with all of the what if Bama threads?

We all know there's rivals here. We all know fans root and hope the best for their teams... but why do we have all of these "what if Bama beats LSU" threads?
Even the Bama backers have to agree their out matched in this upcoming game. Yes, we have all seen upsets in the SEC for years... but c'mon. In all seriousness who honestly believes Bama has the talent let alone the luck to beat us. There's too much riding on this game and we'll have everyone back at either 100% or almost 100%. This is the same Bama team that allowed Arkansas to come back and almost win after pretty much blowing them out... the same Bama team that barely beat Vandy... and the same Bama team who will face Auburn in a month who smoked vandy, and held Arkansas to only 7 points... who we just so happen to blow out 20-7 in the 2nd half with our smothering Defense and recuperated Offense.
So why are we entetaining these threads?

I was just asking a sincere question. I could careless either way... just tired of seeing all of them. Bama has no chance so why keep bringing it up?

Even SEC bottom dwellers can rise up and knock off top 10 teams (see last week).

I think there's a lot of uncertainty about how good (or bad) Bama may be. Everyone here knows that Saban (and company) is a huge upgrade over the previous coaching staff, and that change has paid dividends already this year. We played a fairly complete game against an average UT team, and no one is sure what happens if everything goes right for us.

If the team hadn't improved over the course of the season, all of this would be moot - but the fact is there has been steady (albeit inconsistent) improvement. So no, we don't have the talent to play man up with you guys this year, but what if, if our players play the best game of the season and our staff out-plans Les and company?

That's why there are so many question marks. Depending on which Bama team shows up, this will either be a game or LSU will walk away with it.

 

Just because you guys got Saban doesn't change the fact Bama sucks. Or the fact you've gotten lucky in numerous games... most noticeably the Arkansas, Houston and Ole Miss games.

Bama has outscored oppenents: 262-156 compared to LSU's 300-117. Look at the schedules between the teams and you'll also notice the difference in level of teams played between the two teams. Again... why do you have a chance again.
