@KyleK right, but do you see the difference between the wings? The ones in the picture you put up and most of the ones I have seen are almost clear, the one in the picture I put up look darker and a different, hell idk they look different, maybe its because they are folded against its body in my picture. The other thing is the head and neck. The picture I posted has an almost diamond shaped head adn a really skinny neck, nothing like the ones above? Odd.
I can't tell from your pic. Were the antennae elbowed or straight? If elbowed, it's an ant. If straight, it's a termite.
ETA, they looked straight, but hard to be sure.
I don't remember and it is too hard to tell from the pic, had to hold the little shit down to get the pic cause it wouldn't stay still. Then I smushed it. Meh, no biggie, quick call to the pest place should take care of it.
Best I can tell in your pic, they are straight. Let me know what the pest guy finds. Show him your pic.
It looks like it may be an assassin bug. It is definitely a bug from the order Hemiptera. It definitely isn't from the order Hymenotera that includes bugs such as wasps, bees, ants and termites.
You ought to catch a few, and put them in a medicine bottle or something and freeze them. Then let them thaw out carefully (so they don't break apart while frozen) and then bring them in to the pest company office for identification. The technician that comes out and sprays will act like an expert, but a trained entomologist will definitely know.
It may be an exotic species that came into the US in a flower pot as part of a shipment of indoor plants from Central America or China.
It looks to me like it's the dreaded woodie chewing Pinhead Termite Cajun sensationii to me....
(Assasin bugs have a smaller head and a wider thorax as well as a recurved probocis underneath)
Bugs look more like bad dreams than normal animals. Their body forms are fascinating to me. I definitely could have studied entomology.
I still really have no idea what that lil fugger is....it could end up being an assasin bug.
