What will it take to get a great replacement for Miles?

There's no doubt Miles needs to go after what we saw yesterday. I'm amazed at how many think we can get whoever we want with the possible exceptions of Saban and Urban with a snap of our fingers. So what established coach will come with Aleva and the clowns running things? How does anyone who has seen Aleva's previous hires think he'll find the next Saban?
I mean do you remember Tennessee, Texas, Alabama before Saban, us after Charly Mac???
We need to do it right.
    1) Fire Aleva, F King Alexander and handcuff the BOS
    2) Find a good search agent or get Mark Emert back
    3) Give the new coach total control of the program and unlimited funds
    4) Demand accountability (easier said than done)
Unless LSU does this or something similar the hope of hiring Tom Hermon or whoever is the current flavor of the month is just that hope.
None of this will guarantee a great hire and more NCs but I don't think we get what we want/need otherwise.

Don't hold your breath. I can't see any of the 4 happening.

Emmert is like a baseball player who hits home run in his first at bat and then has a mediocre career. Look at the shitstorm the NCAA is under Emmert

Promote Aranda before someone snatches him up...

I think this is a great idea. Young, smart, defensive side of the ball. All the things you should look for AND we have him NOW. Is it a gamble, sure it is, but we already know what we have currently and it just isn't getting any better.

um, he's coached one game here and it was less than was expected. not sure that's the guy I'd want.

Nice, his D kept us in the game.
I'd take him over what we have currently

The defense deserves a little bit of a learning curve. It's a new system, players are adjusting and learning. That said, Aranda made adjustments during the game. They gave up 16 points which should have been enough for the win, a defensive TD and set up a short field for the only offensive TD. I think the defense will improve as the season progresses.

One would think, and hope. Let's also recognize that he is working with what he inherited. I'm willing to give him a year or two/three to recruit the guys he wants or needs to make his system work.

The last thing I'm going to do is blame Dave for what we know is a Les problem

For his first game as an SEC DC knowing his personnel for less than 8 months his debut was fantastic. His defense was on the field most of the game because of Clueless and Clulesser ie, Cameron and Miles. Miles is the modern day Cholly Mac modern football has passed him by and he is too stupid to realize it.
