I am not an obnoxious SC fan. We have been through too much terrible football to get too "cocky" after one significant win in Athens. I do think we have a decent chance Saturday only because we have a brilliant coach that is so confident that it exudes in his players behavior. SOS actually said on his coach's show today "We do not have to play perfect to win (at LSU)." I disagree but it is a far cry for Holtz poormouthing. I thought I would suggest this game to be a measuring stick for the Bengals. There are some suggesting this game against the Cocks could be a trap game. The same thing was suggested in '03 when LSU came to Columbia and many analysts were screaming upset. The result: LSU rolled 33-7 and launched themselves to a NC. If that happens again on Saturday, I would have to say that LSU would have a pretty good path. I would favor you guys over Florida. The Gators are good but do be deceived by the UT score; Tennessee helped them out too much.
Thanks for your post. I believe LSU's defense will be too stout for SC's offense. SC has a good defense. I agree with you about UF win over a mediocre UT team that helped the gators out. LSU offense is very well balanced and is quite potent considering that not counting the MissST game most scores have come off of long sustained drives. I hope that you stick around and talk football some more. I do expect that this will be a good game. And I do wish ya'll good luck for the rest of the season not including Saturday night, naturally. And I hope that ya'll do real well against UF. :geauxtige
What does this game mean to us? It means EVERYTHING! ...It's the current game on the schedule. Throw in the fact that there is no love lost for Spurrier here in Tiger Town. I've sat through MANY a Florida whipping in the student section of Tiger Stadium in the mid '90's to not have a genuine dispise for man...
Spurrier is one blocked field goal from being 2-0 versus Meyer. Considering that Georgia and Tennessee have yet to beat him, I think it's fairly impressive.
I think it has shaped up to be a really big game for LSU. How many ranked teams will we end up playing this year?
It means a few thing for me: 1 -- chance to go to 4-0. 2 -- chance to see LSU play again, which is always a good thing these days. 3 -- chance to see my favorite coach return to the real Death Valley 4 -- POSSIBLE chance to see LSU's next coach return to the real Death Valley :hihi: :thumb:
Nice Hawkins sig! :thumb: To me, this game means an opportunity to distance ourselves even further from the pack...to continue our dominance and continue to cement our place atop the SEC.
I like to listen to that clip at least twice a week. Watching the Texans today at a sports bar, I was overcome and blurted out "IT'S NFL FOOTBALL!" About 1/2 the people around me got it.
