I'm so frustrated every year with not finding current and good coverage of College Baseball on ESPN.com and CNN.com/Sports Illustrated. It would be so easy to add a section on their website to cover great college baseball. Does anyone know why that is? It makes no sense at all.

Maybe it is because these institutions are up in the Northeast. Please, can anyone shed any light on this???

I don't buy it's only money. Creating a section on a website is practically no cost at all. They could very easily track the scores and tie in written coverage. Besides, they go ESPN goes gang busters over the CWS every year.

I love college baseball but it's the third tier of baseball. Minor leagues (for the most part) and the majors are a step above in play. If it was more common for players to go straight from the college ranks to the majors, you'd see more coverage.

I've wished for more college baseball on TV for years but the increase in broadcasts grinds very slowly. My guess is that there just aren't that many top-notch, competetive-every-year college baseball programs in the north, northeast, even the midwest. That's a lot of viewers. ESPN (and the other networks) broadcast what they figure to make money on.

But College Baseball is the most exciting of all baseball. The energy level, teams can come back fro 8 down in no time. MLB puts me to sleep most of the time. I live in Nashville and have been following the Vandy program up here. Their baseball team is incredible. Their coach is or will be one of the best in the country after this year. I think not coverin more CB is a huge money mistake. College sports are so much more exciting.

I wish more folks shared your opinion.

The College World Series is my favorite sporting event of the year. I watch every game.

Everything is about $$. If it was profitable to cover College Baseball you know they would be doing it. I agree and I wish they had more CB coverage than they do. But there are over 280 D-1 Baseball teams. You could only really cover the upper tier schools because you would'nt be able to get scores for some of the games played. Plus ESPN's website always covers what they are currently pushing on their TV station. And they don't show CB until the CWS.

I think you're pretty much on top of this one. On a related whine, I just wish my local newspaper would put college baseball scores in on a consistent basis. They tell me what the Longhorns did and little else. I can't figure it out since baseball is very popular here in Central Texas.

Yep, here in Nahville Vandy has the #1 ranked baseball team and I can't even find a time for the baseball game day of in the newspaper.
