I watched the game last night...The Aubs didn't look good at all. What gives? Do you guys agree with Tubbs letting the clock run down with 2 timeouts left? Is Cox going to last the whole year and do you have an adequate backup to take over if he gets hurt or yanked? What do you see of the rest of the schedule? I'd like your thoughts...
I wouldnt look for Auburn to go away. Plus, USF is pretty good. Auburns defense will keep them in every game and Cox cant get any worse. He has shown signs of being able to do okay. If he just manages the game and doesnt try to win it himself I think they will do alright. Still hope they lose every game...sorry had to say it.
I DVR'ed the aub bame and watched a good bit of it this morning. They were lucky they didnt get beat by 21+ points with as many mistakes their offense made. Their defense is good, real good, but by the end of the game they were worn out from having to play so much. The aub offense is pitiful. I dont know whats going on but Cox looks horrible and they looked like a bunch of bumbling fools on that side of the ball. I wouldnt be crowing too much there bammer. You guys are probably a little better than last year but you didnt look too great against mighty Vandy. The bammer offense looked almost as bad as the aub offense and if it wasnt for a couple penalties and the Vandy QB getting hurt that game could have turned out different. The aub defense is going to eat bammer up and the aub offense will probably be clicking by the time they play you and expose that iffy defense. I dont see bammer having much to spout off about just because aub lost.
I just spoke with my cousin from Birmingham, and he said if it were not for a penalty, Alabama would have only won by 24-17. He said they did not look real good.
Vandy was never in the game. If JPW was anywhere near average Bama would have won by 30. Anyone that says Vandy could have won didnt watch the game.
I watched it and never thought that the outcome was in doubt, either. Vandy never really pressed Bama. JPW looked terrible, though. I was surprised, I thought he was actually a pretty decent QB. That Grant kid they have at RB is going to be special, though, I think.
I was at the game and Vandy got screwed by two bad Ref calls in the first quarter. The Refs don't make those phantom calls and Vandy scores 14 points in the first quarter. Then Vandy's QB was injured on the first series and can't play the 2nd half. Too bad for Vandy. I sure would have like seeing how the game would have turned out without those issues. Then again, that's part of the game. Neither team looked good.
BS. That call on Earl Bennett at the bginning was more than warranted. Plus, Bama missed two field goals and stalled inside the red zone almost every time. Alabama drive right down the field on every drive. If you play the "penalty card" Bama could have played the JPW card. The game was never close. It was 24-3 and Bama gave up a non necessary TD in prevent. However, I agee with you. Vandy did not look good but I think they are much better than that. They made Bama's defense look much better than they really are. Nickson was handicapped all game.
This was intended to get feedback from the AU posters on their game last night. I wasn't rubbing anything in, I was just simply asking their thoughts on the game...and their opinion of how Tubbs handled the last minute. Not once did I mention Bama...
