Where have and haven't you sat, in Tiger Stadium? How's the new west upper?

So, where in Tiger Stadium have you had the experience to watch games from and where have you never had the opportunity to be? Never been in either upper (new west and east, nor have I ever been between the 35's in the lower bowl).

However, it looks like i might be watching a few games from the new west upper and was wondering what yall thought about the view from there? I've never been in the east upper so i don't know what they're like? Besides the chairbacks (which I don't care about nor will i be sitting in) how would you compare it to the old upper? I always thought the old upper was pretty decent as far as upper deck seating went as long as you didn't have vertigo :thumb: . It always seemed closer to the field and more "into" the rest of the stadium than the east upper. I know it'll be bad for hearing the band and such but are the two uppers we have now moved too far back and away from the bowl? Is there a sense that you're less apart of the game from there? Other than the old west upper, I've sat near the top row in a corner of the south endzone once and was perfectly happy there b/c I still had tons of people all around and it was still definitely INSIDE where the action was.

I don't have season tickets nor am I a big spender when it comes to tickets, I just always got lucky either getting good seats from a friend who had an extra or with a stranger selling outside the stadium before the game, so I've been fortunate enough that when I make it to the games I've been able to sit in the south endzone, a few times just at the edge of the older sideline areas, and a few times almost directly behind the band (that was a good day  , I think the last time I sat there was the "doink" game where Auburn's kicker was our MVP.)

I originally was just going to ask about the west upper but became interested to see where the rest of you Tigahs have and have not watched from. I'm of the belief that there is no better place than the north endzone (yes, even more so than either sideline) because of how packed in it gets, you can hear the band nice and loud, and you're generally surrounded by enthusiastic people that like to stand, jump, scream, etc during the game without fear of getting stuck in the back by a cane and getting told to sit down (hasn't ever happened but I like to imagine that's what happens between the 40's, as I have never sat there and have an inferiority complex with those of you who do  ).

And yes, I've seen the sight line from the west upper online but that doesn't tell you too much about the atmosphere and feeling of watching a game from there. So before anyone posts it:

I have sat in both the south and north endzones (various spots all around) and once in the east upper. For purposes of watching and following the game I didn't find the east upper to be all that bad, provided you are relatively low in the upper deck.

I enjoyed my time in the north endzone when I was a student, but the south endzone is my home. I had season tickets in south upper when I was a kid up until the time I started going to LSU. I now have season tickets in the south lower on the visitors side of the field. Yes, I sit smack dab in the middle of the visiting fans. I love it!!! Well, technically I am not right in the middle of the visiting fans, but you get the idea. I sit about three rows from the top of the lower bowl underneath the upper level overhang. It does not rain on me. In fact, water drips from said overhang onto the people who sit in front of me. I feel bad for them, but not totally.

Never sat in a box at Tiger Stadium.

Come on boys and girls, all you have to do is invite me.

My favorite place to sit is the south endzone.

I've sat in the Old West Upper, East Upper, South and my season tickets are in the North. The Old West Upper was STEEEEEEEP. I sat up there for an Ole Miss game where it was freezing with winds at about 20 MPH. It was awesome. I sat in the East Upper for the 2000 Tennessee game. I remember liking the ability to see pretty much every yard gained but it sucked because you cannot hear the Band\cheers worth a crap. I sat in the South endzone for Florida 97', it was OK. The North endzone is the best and all you South endzone people know it!! And if it rains in TS you get wet. Period. Only women and small children run and hide. And not even all of the women. :D

I usually sit in the East Upper section row H. I love the view from my seats, however, for one of the Saints games I sat 20 or so rows higher directly above my LSU seats and was not impressed with the view. I wanted to walk down to my LSU game seats and kick them out.:hihi: I originally started getting tickets in that section because I knew a few girls who worked in the Suits who would sneak me into them every game. From then on, I just decided to stay.

The upper decks seem to have more space and you dont feel crunched and there are rarely lines for the bathrooms and concession stands. It is also great that you dont have to walk up the ramps with a buzz. You tend to lose it after a long walk up those damn things. Escalators dont kill the buzz. If you are a smoker, which I am when I am drinking, you can smoke anywhere outside the seating areas. Also it seems very easy to bring your favorite beverages up to the East Upper and probably the same for the West Upper. I used to throw my drinks in the trash can before getting on the escalator but one day a cop stopped me and said since you bought that cup from an LSU stand, you can bring that drink with you. Nothing like a cop letting you bring straight Jack into a game.

The band is pointing right at my seats so you can hear everything from where I am sitting.

I used to sit in one of the medical boxes with my Dad on the West side near the 35 yd line. Those were great too. You have to try the Club Seats if you get a chance as well.

i sat in both "uppers". the west is better in warm weather as the sun is setting behind you. however, you cannot hear the band at all. in fact, for those who never sat anywhere else, i wonder if they even realize the band plays on every first down and defensive stop?

I've sat in the student section and my family's season tickets are on the east side, halfway up, at the 48-sih yard line (right by the portal). Those are the only two places I've been to a game. I sat on the West side for the first time at the spring game. I've never been in a deck or a box.
