Visiting Baton Rouge this weekend for the LSU game. What is there to do and places to hang out for me and my buddies. Thanks
:hihi: Around the stadium grounds during the day. The most tail-gaiting you'll ever see. Stop and visit with people, you'll be well- taken care of. Make sure to visit Mike- his mansion is as impressive as he is. After the game, someone else will have to answer that one- I'm not in touch with the bar scene anymore.......too many birthdays.
Eat and drink in Baton Rouge on gameday We eat good in Baton Rouge. There is some damn good food in this town, especially seafood. Mike Andersons, Phil's Oyster Bar, Drusilla Seafood, and Ralph & Kacoos are the most popular. All will be crowded on game weekends but you can get in with a reasonable wait, they are used to it. TJ Ribs is especially good at moving a crowd through on game day and serves fine BBQ. Juban's is kind of upscale but has the finest Creole cuisine in town. And don't forget 24-hour breakfast at Louie's Cafe, a classic just-off-campus diner with the best omelettes and burgers in town. Good off-campus Bar & Grills abound. The Chimes, Walk-on's, The Pastime, Georges, Ivars, Sammy's and Brewbachers are all great LSU bars with good food and cold beer. Boutin's for Cajun food and music. There is no shortage of night clubs in BR, many with live music. The Varsity Theatre and The Caterie are close to campus. Don't forget there are two riverboat Casinos downtown for fun and entertainment.
Very much depends on your age and what you want to do after the game. Are you looking to have lots of drinks, to pick up a warm body for the evening, to eat a nice meal with a good bottle of wine? What are your intentions?
My friends band, "The Captain Legendary Band", is playing at Fred's Bar after the game. It's 2-3 miles South of the stadium off Nicholson. You can't miss it, they will have a huge circus type tent in front with a ton of people.
Dont forget Parrain's Seafood on Perkins. Downtown area arond the casinos have alot of good bars to go to. I like the Wine Loft and a few others.
