Where to watch the Tigers in Austin?

I'm going to be in Austin for New Years and I was wondering if anyone knew of a place where LSU fans gather for the games. Something downtown preferably.

Shoal Creek Saloon, my friend. A VERY short taxi cab ride from downtown. This is a Saints/LSU bar and they serve free jambalaya, red beans and rice and all kindsa goodies. It will be packed out with fellow LSU fans.

Let me know how it goes, brother.:geaux:

What that guy said. I live just outside Austin in Dripping Springs and I go there for some games. Another place on the North side of town is Pluckers on Research BLVD but I would go to the Saloon first.

Everytime I went there for an LSU/Saints game they served either free jambalaya or red beans and rice or dirty rice. Of course, that was back in the day when the economy was slammin'.....2002-2004ish.

Shoal Creek is definitely the place to go for a home away from home atmosphere - but Lavaca Street Bar at 4th and Lavaca also carries the games and lots of the younger LSU folks in town head there to minimize the post game commute downtown.

Check out www.lsuaustin.com for more details.

Now I'm confused. I thought Shoal Creek was right by downtown. Google Maps shows them less than a mile from each other.

Shoal Creek Saloon should be a $3 cab ride from Downtown 6th Street.
