1. For the first time that I can ever remember I went to the game hours early, stayed through the whole thing and did not see one visiting team fan. That was weird, maybe they had yellow shirts on or something. I take it Vandy doesnt travel well. :D
  2. I didn't see any Vandy fans either...oh well.
  3. I saw ONE.. count 'em.. ONE car that had a Vanderbilt car flag on it in the Parker parking lot.

We were so desperate to Tiger Bait someone that we were considering doing their band as we walked by.
  4. LoL
  5. Saw a few watching the band come down the hill but that was all.
  6. I saw some..not many, but some...
  7. From one of the few Vandy fans at the game...

let me just say 'Thanks' for a great day of tailgating and football. Came down to the game from Chicago with my dad and brother-in-law after spending a couple of days in New Orleans. My dad has done business in Louisiana before and this was on his 'to do before I die' list so we met up with some LSU friends of his before the game for some gumbo and jambalaya.

As a graduate of both Vanderbilt and a Big-10 school, let me say that I have never been to a better college football environment. After some good-natured 'Tiger Bait', 99% of the people I met were very friendly and thanked us for coming down. Even after the one exception (a drunk student screaming in my face non-stop for a couple of minutes) several people made a point to come up and apologize for his actions. Overall, our impressions were classy fans, great food and fantastic football.

As to Vanderbilt's 'traveling' well to opposing games - we historically don't. There are a few reasons for this, the obvious one being we have not had a winning record since the early 1980s. Also, we only have about 6000 undergraduate students and they tend to spread out all over the country after graduation. I do believe, however, that if we were to make a bowl game some year we would have good representation at the game.

Once again, thanks for a memorable weekend and best of luck on the remainder of the season.
  8. They probably all stayed home to study.
  9. Damn, what a depressing way to spend your college years. :hihi:  :hihi:  :hihi:
  10. I met the CEO of Enron's son this weekend. He is a Vanderbilt student and came down with a highschool friend of mine for the game. Tough situation for him with his parents right now...
