    DandyDon had this to say...

I can't believe he thinks 3 WRs are going to play as true freshmen. (Trindon isn't a true freshmen - as he greyshirted last year). We have Bowe, Buster, Early, and LaFell for next season. I believe only one of them, Jared Mitchell (assuming he ends up coming), will not redshirt & get some playing time.

Other than that, I think he's about right.

I think one of the three RB's will play. I assume KW just because he has a year of military school under his belt and probably is more ready than the other two...

Also, maybe Jai will play...It seems we always have a freshmen DB that gets PT every year and he is probably the best DB prospect we have coming in...

With our depth at WR, I expect most freshman receivers will be redshirted. Maybe one standout freshman WR (pick one) will get some playing time. I think both freshman running backs will play (Williams and Scott). Holliday will play on special teams for sure and maybe some offense.

On defense, I expect that Eugene will see time at CB and perhaps Al Woods at DT.

The less that play this year, the better. Or should I say the less that are still playing after the third game the better.

I don't see how we can avoid playing at least on of the runningbacks though, and JC will probably be in the two deep at LB if he is anything like advertised.

Yes & no. It's a good recruiting tool to be able to say that we play freshmen, but at the same time you need to develop them & want them to stick around for as long as possible.

On the other hand, not having to play freshmen means your team is solid with vets.

what about that 5star defensive end we got a couple years ago. I imagine that he was redshirted last year, but someone mentioned Al Woods and that made me think of him. Hes another Woods,I think, and he should be playing a lot this year.

If Favorite doesn't step up I'd imagine that Al Woods will get some playing time. Williams, Eugene, Cutrera, Jared Mitchell, and possibly Odom (if he adds some weight) seem like safe bets to play early. Giddens will probably play, he is going to be a special teams demon.

Why after the 3rd game, If a freshman plays any down of any game then they cannot take a redshirt year, unless they can prove a special circumstance (ie medical, hardship, etc.) but usually once a freshman plays a down he cannot redshirt.
