A lot of people say that the SEC is just a football conference, and really can't compete in Bball. over the past 25 years, the final four (last 100 final four teams) breaks down like this.
    ACC - 25
    Big 10 - 16
    SEC - 14
    Big East 14
    Big 12 -10
    PAC 10 - 7
    Conf USA 6
    All others 8

I would say we are doing quite well in the SEC. What do you think?

Right. That was the year that they put "Mississippi" on their hats and forgot to add "State"

Did LSU not go once in the last 25 years? I can't remember when the last Final Four team was.

    Ok....I think I found it...last 25 years....going back to 1980

Kentucky won it in 1998 and 1996 and was 2nd in 1997 and was 3rd in 1984 and 4th in 1993
Arkansas won it in 1994 and 2nd in 1995 and 3rd in 1990
    Florida was 2nd in 2000 and 4th in 1994
    UGA finished 3rd in 1983
    MSU was 4th in 1996
    LSU was 4th in 1986 and 1981

well the big east has dominated the tournament the last few years, since the last 2 National Champions have been from the big east (SU & UConn) looks like this year the big east has many more contenders, right now, i think the ACC is the best because of the year north carolina schools but i guess we'll hafta wait till the final four to see

the problem is.....5 years is a long time to be out of the final 4. we better get some teams in there soon or recruiting will get tougher. dont see any getting there this year, but its possible

    Basketball Conferences:
    1 - Big East
    2 - ACC
3 - SEC (although the SEC and Big 10 are probably a tie this year for 3)
    4 - Big 10
    5 - Con. USA etc...

this is based on this year though.
