I read this quote in The Advocate this morning. You think he is talking about the one on the Addai run on the last series? I thought I heard the ref say it was # 64, Niswanger ... did they show a replay on TV?

Sounds like Miles will be all over someone this week....

Well, I got my TiVo last Friday and I have re-watched the game twice now. At least one of the Whitworth holding calls was lousy. He was pushing on the guys shoulder pads but he wasn't hanging on. The call on Niswanger was even worse. He pancaked a linebacker and was called for holding.

I remember one where the lineman (cannot remember who, maybe Niswanger) blocked a linebacker a few yards down the field below the waist, basically chopping him. I think it negated a big gain.

An interesting quote from Whitworth. Sounds like he's not too happy with the refs. I don't recall him having a problem with holding calls in the past.

I believe he's talking about the call on Withworth in the 4th quarter that brought back Addai's 1st down that would have been pretty much the end of the game.

I noticed some strict calls in the Bammer/ Ole Myth game too. I think SEC refs are playing a little tight if you ask me. let em play ball.

Well we only had a few holding calls, so the possibilities are small. I think he's referring to Whitworth, because in the Vandy game remember WHit got called for holding for what Miles called "hand position". He spoke about that specifically then..saying he was going to work with Whit this last week and show him how to place his hands inside the shoulder pads.

He said otherwise, it was a perfect block, just don't let the refs make a bad call by putting your hands outside his shoulders. What did Whit do on tha tplay? Yea, put his hands outside the defender's shouldlers - and got called again. I think Miles is talking about that one.

Is it just me, or are our guys getting called for a bunch of BS calls & the opposing team getting away with too much? I've never been one to think some one (refs, media etc) are against us, but I've noticed it every game...

In the vandy game I am sure we were held on quite a few plays. It was pretty blatant against vandy. I am going to have to rewatch this game to see if the same thing happened.

Every team gets BS calls on them, and every fanbase notices it more than any other viewers, so that's the explanation there. Claude Wroten however, gets held on a very large % of plays..Kyle Williams is not far behind. I'm not talking avg holding, they really hold him good because he is like a rhino in there blowing people off the ball.
