I have been checking out gator recruiting messageboards and this guy is supposed to be incredible. People there say he is a lock for LSU due his family in Louisiana. Gators actually seem envious that we lead in recruiting for that guy. Who is he? I have never heard anything about him before checking out florida sites. What little I have seen suggests that he is also one of the top track & field guys in the nation. He supposedly went to some big time track meet in Calif. and smoked everybody. Is any of it true? I hope it is!

    Here's one report:

Xavier Carter RECRUITING EVALUATION: Xavier Carter
    By Larry Blustein FloridaKids.us
    Date: Jun 16, 2003

Our Recruiting Profile on Palm Bay's Xavier "Pee Wee" Carter traces the development of a nationally-rated track star into a prime-time football prospect.

FLORIDAKIDS.us CLASS OF 2004 RECRUITING EVALUATION:

While you can find out just so much about watching film on an athlete or talking to him on the phone, there is a major advantage to seeing the athlete live. I have been fortunate to see more high school football players in person in the state of Florida than any other source.
What I will do is use my 30 plus years of evaluating talent on the football field to give you a complete opinion on the top football players in the Class of 2004.
I hope you enjoy this rare look into the football players in the state from a first-hand, LIVE vantage point:
    PLAYER: Xavier Carter.
    SCHOOL: Palm Bay.
    POSITION: Wide Receiver/Safety.
    HEIGHT: 6-3.
    WEIGHT: 195

    www.floridakids.us PRE-SUMMER RATING: 3.

THE SCOOP ON THIS FLORIDA KID: Ever since the 9th grade, he has been turning heads with his ability to run (4.37) and jump (40 inch vertical). Even though his uncle Alonzo Jefferson (Notre Dame), who is a Palm Bay coach, has exposed him to football for a long time, he was thought of as a track superstar first and football player second.
Had the pleasure of camping with him twice and watching him play four times in the past three years, and even though he is a national sprint champion, he has suddenly jumped into the front of the line as a football prospect!
EVALUATION: Has vaulted into the spotlight as a football player who has learned how to catch the ball, run good patterns and adjust his body in flight to make a catch.
Will be an immediate success at the next level because he knows how to use his speed to do the small things and turn them into big plays. When all is said and done, he may be the fastest "football player" in America, and the fact that he is mentioned as one of the top football players in this state will open any door he wants.
THE INSIDE STORY: Look for him to end up playing football in college in the fall and running track in the spring. Also, he could put his pro football career on hold for a crack at the 2008 Olympic Games!

also Xavier's mom is a LSU alum. I think she also ran Track while she was in School. That being said IF he goes out of stay then the only school outside of stay he will sign with will be LSU. If he stays in stay then it will likely be Florida because The Palm Bay kids get pressured big time, and in some case threaten to go to Florida or else. Rumors are this happen with Joe Cohen and Reggie Nelson Last year. Even if we don't get Xavier we still have about a 90% chance with Early Doucet and that will more than cover the loss of Carter, But it would be awesome to have the number 1&2 WR's in the country.

I hope you are right about Doucet. If we are able to get Xavier, we will have one of or maybe the Best WR corp ever assembled. If Early does sign at LSU, I think he would Start at WR & Return Specialist. Also, could probably play 3rd down RB or DB if he wanted to, IMO.

Saw on Rivals LSU Commit ATL/WR - Jerald Watson is a Pro Baseball Prospect. Anyone know how high he may go in the MLB Draft? Hopefully he will play for Saban & Smoke.

    Can you imagine this formation?

    5 wide-outs:
    Craig Davis
    Amp Hill
    Dwayne Bowe
    Early Doucet
    Xavier Carter

The defense might as well walk off the field. lol. That is cruel and unusual punishment.

That would be quite amazing...but it is possible. We already have the top three on that last, Early doucet is a strong lean towards LSU and Xavier has us and Miami...We took Davis and Bowe from Miami last year, we can do it again this year...
