Because I didn't want to read through a million posts and tag mine on the end of a long thread. Great game, Bayou Bengal fans. I couldn't have taken another play or my heart would have given out. First of all, the obvious. There was more than one controversial call (or no call) yesterday, but the big one makes me ill to review. Would LSU have scored, given the ball and a fresh set of down from that point? We'll never know. I hate that the ballgame swung (not decided per se) on that play. It overshadowed a awesome play by Brock and cast some shadows over an otherwise staunch defensive effort. All I can say is, I'm glad it went my team's way. If I was in all of your shoes, well, let's just say I'm glad I'm not. Secondly, this rivalry is quickly becoming one of mutual respect. I loved seeing all the LSU fans at Auburn yesterday, having a great time (until the end, anyway) and representing your school in a fine fashion. I'm sure that there were some instances of trouble, but there will always be turds in the punch bowl from both sides that will go looking for, and find, trouble. The visitors to our forum this week, for the most part, have been great. Let's al put the past behind us and concentrate on hating Alabama equally. Third, your band was awesome yesterday, as always. Lastly, go on a ten game winning streak now. Your team fought and didn't deserve to lose yesterday. Your defense is awesome and your offense will be just fine. War Eagle and Geaux Tigers.
We were lucky enough to meet a family tailgating through a friend who lives in B'ham, and we were received graciously not only by them but those around them, before and after the game. Aside from one group of people in a house near the "GoalPost" liquor store and some sorority girls on top of a three story condo building both yelling at us, we were greeted with "great game" and "beat Bama" by all. Too bad I was ready to fight. I simply nodded and moved on.
