I'm not here to bash on Jimbo but what did he do for us and the media to think he was that good.

Our offense was pretty much mediocre when you look at all the talent LSU had. Did Saban and Miles hold him back? Maybe. But I don't think he's being held back now and look what's happening to him at Florida St.

Now that I look back, I really don't think he was that good now that I see what Crowton's doing with the offense. I know the offense hasn't played up to their potential to often but atleast the people in the stands don't know what play is coming just by looking at the formation.

I used defend him on this board and used to think he was held back, but watching Fla. St. and seeing them run the same predicable plays we ran, I'm beginning to think those who criticized him were right. It's not like FlaSt doesn't have athletes, so it's got to be on JF.

The other teams either. One of the changes Crowton made was not to let the OLine's stance telegraph whether it's run or pass. With Jimbo, it was a dead ringer.

Having said that, our FB is consistently cheating to the side the play is called, before the snap.

I was thinking the same thing last night when a bubble screen went for -2 yards. Deja Vu.

I never really thought Jimbo was great. I thought he was adequate and has a few stellar games throwin in at times. He would have a weekend where he called a near flawless game, then would run totally predictable and vanilla the next. Having said that, seemed like when he was on...he was pretty darn good.LSU!

We averaged 10 wins a season under Jimbo, won 2 SEC and 1 national title. Did you forget, amigo?

I usually questioned Jimbo's role in that. But I questioned Pelini at first, Miles until Miami last year, and am not fully sold on Crowton yet.

I could have been the OC and did all that with the talent LSU had. I think LSU's talent made him look way better than he really was (is).

Not that I am a huge fan of Jimbo, but last week I saw a formation we were in and said to the person next to me, watch its the option with the fake reverse to Trindon. It happened and we lost a yard. I looked at him and he said, "Apparently you weren't the only one who knew what we were going to run."
