Why does JR stare down his

primary receiver? Can't the coaches tell him to look the other way before throwing to the primary receiver? You can't have an effective passing game in the SEC doing that. Now for the good part. 1st LSU team to win every home game since 1972. We are something like 20-3 over our last 23 games. There are not many teams that could say that.

Even when he stares his reciever down he still can't throw the ball "to" him. Lol, imagine him throwing, looking off a reciever... pick city.

Actually, I think he might do better. He is aiming the ball al lot and not letting it loose. It is like when you have a short putt and you try and "wish" it in, instead of taking a good confident stroke. Miss it every time. Notice how he struggles most with the very short passes. He aims it instead of throwing it.

Definitely aims it. Not throwing freely and naturally at all.

I think Smoke Laval needs to work with JR with his release, he holds the ball to long before his release which is why it usually falls at the ankles of his recievers... Coach Saban should make him go practice with the baseball team and I guarantee that would get better.

Actually, he was on the money early in the game but several dropped passes (and Early's chicken wings) put him in an uncomfortable position and he started reverting back to the bad mechanics he had earlier in the season (throwing off his back leg, not squaring his shoulders to the target). Unlike most of you, I have seen improvement, albeit not much. He'll come around with patience and good coaching. Once it clicks, we'll see a great QB.

I hope you're right SabanFan. I would like to think so as well. Next season heavily depends on that happening. And his receivers will be that much better, as well as the O-line, with another year under their belts.

Hopefully, we're talking about how this offense cannot be stopped at this point in the season next year.

Does anyone else think he would be much better if he were allowed to play more "street ball?" Just get in the shotgun, drop back, look for who is open and throw it to them. He would probably look like a different QB if he were playing in the SWAC. And not just because the level of competition either. Many good cornerbacks come from the SWAC. I just think we are tring to make him too regimented and that is not his style.

I hope so too. The kid has potential and I'd like to see him succeed.

you can't play "street ball" and compete.. defenses are too good to just find someone open against.. you have to know where and when recievers will be open. that is JR's problem. I look for flynn to give him a run this spring.. and i would be suprised to see a certain future longhorn in purple and gold.. he has been waiting to see if he has a chance to start next year.. i think he does..
