It seems to me that Tedford is like Petrino and Miles, with the only difference being that he has had more success than Miles and done it in a tougher conference than Petrino. But yet he's not being discussed as a major candidate. Thoughts?

because it's unrealistic to expect him to leave Cal for LSU. He has a good deal at Cal. They are promising to upgrade the facilties.

Cal has a lot of potential with lowered expectations. They were maybe two plays away from the bcs title game and at least the Rose Bowl.

There are a lot of positives at Cal. Great University--one of the best public universities in the country, great location in the bay area, great climate and weather, California and the Bay Area is attractive to many athletes, a very fertile recruiting ground in California. Even with USC and even a resurgent UCLA there is plenty of talent to go around and Cal can recruit against them well with their resources and on-campus stadium in a great neighborhood.

Yeah, they may not have a big tradition and may not be as football mad, but he has an easier path to the pac ten title and people won't go nuts if he "slips" to 8-3 one year.

In pure football LSU is a step up, but it's not that much of a step up and if he continues to win, Cal could be a step up.

your head is either too far up your big-10 azz or you're just anti-LSU to attempt such a case. If you want to say he is loyal, fine. If you want to say LSU is not much of a step up football wise, you're borderline retarded. I'm not sure which just yet.

Ralph is just a bitter Michigan State fan that has posted and lurked around here for a while now. He seems to have been loyal to Saban and followed him here. Now Saban is going/gone so he has no reason for any loyalty to LSU. My two cents. :D

I said LSU was a step up, but it's not like going from Louieville to LSU or Vanderbilt to LSU, that's what I meant by not that much of a step up. Sure football wise LSU has more going for it, but Cal is no slouch in regards to university, recruiting area, place to live, and other things.

Sure for football devotion LSU is a step up, but don't underestimate Cal.

If memory serves Cal has only been good for a few years. They haven't been to the Rose Bowl since 1957. Of course LSU is a step up. Cal is good only as long as Tedford stays there.
