Why so many midweek games?

I question our scheduling of all these midweek games as we go down what will be a crucial stretch. We can't take the chance of a loss prior to a SEC series. All be it Nicholl, Southeastern, Southern, exc. aren't SEC teams, they aren't bad teams and if we keep committing all these errors they could beat us. We have to keep our focus on SEC opponents in my opinion. What do you thin?

Tonight's game is a makeup of a previous rainout. You'll very seldom see
two midweek games scheduled in the same week.

And we have to play some mid week games to get other guys work.

Tonights game is the makeup of the Wally Pontiff Jr. Baseball Classic. By the way, the Lions beat #12 Southern Miss last night, 5-3.

    Midweek Games Good

LSU used to play a lot more mid-week games, back in Skip's era. Then the season was lengthened.
Mid week games are a good thing in my opinion. Baseball is a very streaky game. Having a midweek game or two to end such streaks as being swept by a Arkansas team or a hitting slump, etc. is a good thing for the moral of a baseball team.

I see in the coming week, we have Southeastern and Southern as midweek games. Traditionally, they are pretty good, but how are they doing this year and could either one of them give us trouble?

Southern is having a good year. They'll be in a regional and if we don't play well we can be upset by them.
