Why would Les do something like this?

Just when it seemed that the recruitment of Ardmore, Okla. four-star tight end Jermaine Gresham was ironing itself out there was a drastic last second change of plan last weekend. The 6-foot-7, 235-pound Gresham was expected to make his third official visit over the weekend. This time he was expected to find his way to Baton Rouge to check out the LSU Tigers.
However, unknown to Gresham that plan wasn't intended by LSU.

"I don't know what the deal was, they called me and said they were canceling the visit," said Gresham. "They told me that I couldn't come down that weekend and so I won't be able to go at all.

"LSU isn't on my list anymore."

Because when you snooze you loose. LSU had all the recruits it needed, the boat had left the dock and Gresham wasn't on it. If you want to drag your commitment out until the very end you run the risk of a school filling all it's slots before you make a decision. Had Gresham visited a week or two earlier there would have been no problem but he waited too long and lost out, it happens all the time all over the country.

Yep, what he said. Doesn't it feel good to be so good that you can turn guys away. Indecisiveness will burn you every time.

    Exactly!

Plus, we needed that scholly for a position OTHER than for a 3rd tight end....We already had Dickson (who's in the top 10 at the position) as well as Lott.

If Gresham wanted to be a Tiger that bad, then perhaps he should have gotten his butt in gear and either schedule visits earlier, or make up his mind sooner.

The near universal opinion of Ardmore residents (from soonerfans.com) is that the kid really isn't a TE. He doesn't like to block and doesn't really run routes that well... just kind of jumps up over 5'9" DB's to make catches on fly routes. He doesn't work that hard in practice or in the weight room....

I was told on several occasions that "Gresham isn't a football player"....
